Bishop Morlino became bishop of Madison in 2003, when I was just 16 years old. I first got to know him when I traveled the diocese recording his homilies for radio. Later, when my brother was briefly a seminarian for the diocese, he became a family friend. More recently, he attended my wedding and reception in 2015.
Despite any faults, Bishop Morlino was a teacher of truth and a kind-hearted man. He was my bishop, my pastor, my role-model, and my friend. I will miss him. Rest in peace, Bishop!
